( Happy Father's Day )

... the definition of "daddy":

Someone who will drop all of his work obligations, set aside his homework that is due,

put on his shoes and tromp around in the yard - at 9:00pm - catching fireflies because

his two little ones need them for a school project the next morning :)

Places them each, very gently, into two zip lock baggies, pokes a bazillion holes into

each bag, lays them on the counter and secretly hopes they make it through the night...

(unlike the goldfish from last weekend)!

... that's Drew and Macey's daddy ;)  He loves them beyond measure and it couldn't
be more obvious.  This one has him wrapped around her finger, most days.  (we're
minus a boy who wasn't particularly fond of having his picture taken today!)

Drew had a very specific plan for Father's Day.  A few days ago, he gave me a list
of the things he was sure Derek wanted and needed.  The list was very detailed and
sounded like he had been thinking about it for some time ;)
... a new cell phone (because Daddy's is old!), two new shirts, a tank top (?)!, Pringles
potato chips (he says those are Daddy's favorite!), breakfast in bed and some
coconut milk (haha!).  And, he got most of it, including breakfast in bed courtesy of
Drew and Macey and their fabulous waffle making skills (helped by Grandma Jane
and Aunt Kris, of course!)

... here he is after getting all of his presents!  (with an extra little one in there!) =)

We had a full weekend of traveling and visiting with family, but we managed to sneak

out for a little play time tonight.  A late dinner and fun round of miniature golf (no

matter what my sister's Facebook page says, she didn't beat me by that much!)  ;)
